The Institute for Applied Demography, Berlin-Brandenburg, plc
(IFAD) is a non-profit research institution with longstanding
experience in the empirical and theoretical social research.
The Institute concentrates its activities on the following
main areas of research:
- Investigation on demographic processes in Germany - projections
- Development trends within regional labour markets
- Complex investigations on selected social areas - urban and regional
sociology
- Analysis of the situation of selected social groups
The IFAD staff is composed of scientists acting in different fields
of social research. The cooperation of demographs, sociologists,
scientists working on law and economy as well as statisticians allows
an interdisciplinary approach to the respective research subject
and helps to raise considerably the efficiency of research subject and

IFAD Berlin-Brandenburg maintains extensive, data banks on social,
demographic as well as economic facts and information. Various
cooperative relations and working contacts with partners within
and outside Germany complete and enlarge the research and working
capacities.
