Protect your stored products the biological way
Problems with moths?
Release the tiny Trichogramma wasps to protect packages and
bags from infestation. These beneficials are seeking out for moths eggs on
shelves and palettes. Trichogramma evanescens is applied from release-cards
which can be easily applied in bag storage, wholesale– and retail trade as
well as in private households. They emerge for a period of 3 weeks from the
release units.
Once an egg is found, Trichogramma evanescens is ovipositing into
the egg of the moth and no more moth larvae will hatch and infest the products.
Trichogramma evanescens is native to Central Europe and is not possessing
any health risks. The following moths can be controlled with T. evanescens:
Indian meal moth Plodia interpunctella, Mediterranean flour moth Ephestia
kuehniella, warehouse moth Ephestia elutella, Angoumois grain
moth Sitotroga cerealella, mottled grain moth Nemapogon granellus.
During winter, diapausing larvae of pyralid moths can be controlled by the
flour moth braconid Bracon hebetor.
Problems with beetles?
Certain beetles developping in product-residues in stores can be controlled
by the store chalcid Lariophagus distinguendus, e. g.
drug store beetle Stegobium paniceum, tobacco beetle Lasioderma
serricorne, grain weevil Sitophilus granarius, golden spider beetle
Niptus hololeucus.
Integrated pest management — IPM
Biological control can be combined with many other measures like monitoring,
sanitation, physical control using heat and cold, modified atmospheres and

Neem products
We provide Neem products for protection of wool and ornamental plants.
BIp Neem-spray impregnates woolen clothing and carpets against feeding
by larvae of the common clothes moth Tineola bisselliella for up to
6 months.
The house dust mite Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus is controlled by this
product, too.
Neem seeds and Neem oil can be used to prepare environmentally friendly
solutions to protect plants and animals from pests.
