Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST - http://www.mcst.org.mt/)
is the major research centre in Malta (see section 1).
University of Malta (http://www.um.edu.mt/)
carries out substantial programmes of research too in all the faculties.
The University of Malta Research Online provides a full description of
the research activities. The Centre for Labour Studies has also been increasingly
involved in research related to employment and industrial relations in
Europe. The European Documentation and Research Centre runs the Jean Monnet
Projects including the EU-Med and the MESA Projects. The Faculty of Education
carries out substantial research in the field of Education and publishes
a Journal of Maltese Educational Research with two issues a year.
Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Educational Research at the University of
Malta also carries out educational research but with a wider sphere covering
the European continent and the Mediterranean littoral countries. Other
public bodies also take part in ongoing European Research projects other
than those mentioned above. Such a particular case is the Occupational
Health and Safety Authority that is taking part in the Euratom project.
